This application is an information system which enables health workers to implement a new process for "migrant medicine" in the field of public health.

This project was carried out and tested in collaboration with the St. Gallicano International Institute for Social and Anthropological Medical Science (IILSMAS) that performs clinical and epidemiological research work both in Italy and abroad, especially in developing countries with mobile populations.

GENESIS, the guide-line for social workers, nursing staff, doctors and so on in the process of dealing with migrant workers, enables them to:

• trace the socio-health profile of a patient, characterized by sensitive information on migrants who run the risk of social exclusion;
• set up an experimental model in the health service based on respect for different cultures, and preventive social and health information as the fulcrum of the service provision.

On specific request from INMP (National Institute for the Promotion of Migrant Health and for the Campaign against Poverty Related Diseases) a personalised configuration, called SIRIO, has been realised and is currently being operated.
